MSFT talks at Olin today were quite good; I particularly enjoyed
danah boyd's talk on... lots of things. Mainly social networking and digital natives. Anyway, it was very interesting, and apparently is covered fairly extensively in her blog.
Steven Sinofsky's (he's president of Windows, if you didn't know) talk was pretty good too, although it felt a bit glossed over. He was a very funny presenter, though, so it kept things entertaining. We also got him to show us vintage clips of Clippy from way back when.
Completely unrelated to Windows, I also have lots of Android-based fun in the works. I recently acquired a Droid (running Android 2.0), and Ellen and I have decided to do an Android-based ubiquitous computing project for CompArch. The general plan is to ping the phone via internet/3G and have it poll its sensors and respond with an estimate of where it is (the idealized usage scenario being "where the heck did I leave my phone?").
