I know I sure did. Well, I've been reading the manga called Angel Sanctuary lately. One of the Characters, Lucifer, is my background picture for my layout. Its personally my fav character. Anyways, I've been trying to follow along with all the different side stories, and character relationships(its kind of confusing) So to help, mostly, myself out. I decided to do like a quick character bio for all the characters Ive read about so far(I'm only on Volume 6 of 20) There are 120 books in total, so the story is pretty complex. If you don't know anything about angel sanctuary, I'll add a little overview in the begining(its all under the LJ-cut) This also might be kind of long, so bare with me.
Overview: This is not just your typical apocalypse tale...in fact, it focuses mainly on the love life of Mudou Setsuna. Setsuna is your typical tough-boy teenager. Setsuna is in love with his sister, Shara, and she is in love with Setsuna. Sound Strang? it gets wierder. Sometime before the story begins God "disappears" and One of the most powerful angels in heaven rebels against heaven, which is under the rule of a dictator. She fights against her twin brother, who is almost her exact equal, but he is "negitive" and she is "positive", but instead of killing him, she seals him away in the Earth. However, her rebellion is unsuccessful and she is captured and punished. Her punishment is to have her soul and body seperated. While her body is inanimate and incased in crystal in heaven, her soul will reincarnate on Earth and be doomed to die a violent death in every incarnation. But, the cycle has suddenly been broken.
Thats pretty much all I can say, without *really* ruining the rest of this post for any of you. So now I will go on to the characters, I'll put the characters in order of importance to the storyline, first being the most, last being the last.
Alexiel: The bright angel of heaven who led an unsuccessful revolt against the corruption of her fellow angels. She and Roshiel were created as twins by God, but (the story is) Roshiel received all of God's love and attention and Alexiel was discriminated against, being forbidden even to live in the House of Creation. From this she conceived a hostility towards God and angels and beagn the war against heaven. Well, that's one story. Or could it be that she broke the angel's taboo and fell in love with God himself?
Rociel: Her twin brother, a narcissistic beauty who can never understand why his sister doesn't respect him. Released from his captivity by Katan and his video game 'Angel Sanctuary' which swallows the souls of those who play it and gives their energy to Roshiel, he's determined to change her opinion of him and doesn't care who gets hurt in the process.
Setsuna: Alexiel's present incarnation, a rough and ready high school boy who somehow loses consciousness at the sight of blood. Has inherited Alexiel's "astral powers".
Sara: Setsuna's younger sister, the usual pure-hearted innocent dweeby heroine. Loves her brother. Her destiny is deeply routed and mixed in with setsuna's and since he has proctected her for most of her life, she feels the need to protect him whenever possible.
Kira Sakuya: Setsuna's senpai ('big brother', sort of) from junior high onwards. Advises, consoles and occasionally rescues Setsuna. Can't be killed, because he also has some mystical part in Setsuna's destiny.
Kurai- 14th child of the lord of Hell, was absent when her family was massacred by the hosts of Heaven. Saved from death by Alexiel, she has been devoted to her ever since. A legitimate dragon master- the 'dragons' in question being three human-appearing sisters who can be made to tell the future. Looks like a boy but isn't.
Arakune- Kurai's cousin. A disgrace to hell because of his disrespectful ways, was also away when the royal family was wiped out. Terribly feminine, looks like a girl but isn't.
Katan- formerly one of the lowest class of angels (the worker angels- angel peons?) he was given a body by Roshiel. Now he has worked his way up to a "Cherubim" (Im going to add a hierachy of heaven when Im done this, maybe that'll clear some things up for you) Knows how dangerous Roshiel is but follows him anyway.
Adam Cadamon- legendary power, the holy Seraphita. The creator's greatest work, a dazzling six-winged angel who is both male and female, dark and light, 'the first and last holy one.' Is presently imprisoned in heaven in Etemenanki, the building of creation from which he appears to Setsuna for help, calling him 'my dearest son.'
Metatron- (aka the voice of God) The Great Seraphim. Originally the greatest power of the upper heavens, he now looks like a small toddler clutching his teddy bear
Sebothtarte (Katakana: Sebofutaruta)- the prime minister. Has taken all real power from Metatron and instituted a dictatorship, ruling heaven through fear. Always appears veiled
Zaphikel- leader of the thrones (third class of first grade angels), always dresses as a priest. The blind angel who stops Setsuna from killing himself. Lost his sight the one time that he had a vision of Adam Cadamon. Always smiling but occasionally shows a fierce side. Conducts Sara's spirit out of Hades and hides her in Heaven.
And thats about it for the Characters now. Remember ive only read through 6 of the 20 volumes, which is only like 30 comics out of 120 :P. There are more characters to come, and I know stuff about them but mentioning any of them would spoil the story. I tried not to spoil too much of the story for you guys :P.
