Thank you for this. I now can see why this was an incredible story. You certainly did a lot of research and thank you for listing the "list". About the part about Ianto getting his immortality from swallowing Jack's essence, there is a story that was written by Tanarian called "Complications" where this happens. It is a tongue-in-cheek story, but you might like it. Can be found at http://livejournal.com/8443.html#cutid1. I wonder if you have plans to write for a living? You certainly have the talent, and I would actually look forward to reading more of anything you write. Look forward to more of your work.
I actually did even more research than this, but not all of it made its way into the fic. *grins* I have to say it was a lot of fun, though, so I'm definitely not complaining.
Thanks for the link! I'll definitely check it out soon. It sounds hilarious already~
I would like to write for a living, but whether or not that's feasible at the moment is an entirely different matter. I'm planning on writing a piece of fiction for my Masters, though, so with any luck I'll be able to get at least that published at some point. And thank you for believing it's possible; it's a huge confidence boost!
Lovely. So very lovely. I just found this (and your other fic/writing) two days ago and I haven't known a moments peace since *pleasedgrin* I read straight through Counting Stars in any spare moment I could find and I'm tempted to go back and reread it in its entirety. Your style is a pleasure to read. The time flew by and at the end of each chapter I hesitated in clicking for the next piece-tried to convince myself that I should tease it out a bit, so that I wouldn't be disappointed when it came to an end...I am sad that its finished, but your promise of further adventuring in this stunning universe more then makes up for it. Cliched? No, certainly you use conventions that have been used before in fannon, but I had to keep reminding myself of that fact as I read--I was delighted when you rolled out some idea/thing I had read in some form from somewhere else..BECAUSE you owned the concepts and adapted them so well to your plot/characters.
This fic is SO getting Rec'd to all my Torchwood cohorts. -Thank You so very much for
So I found this fic a couple days ago while browsing through the past few pages of genrefinders, and I read it in the last two. I am finding it very difficult to summon up adequate words to describe how wonderful this was. I love cliches, but only when they're done well, and you certainly pulled it off, no question about that. I think that part 9 might have been my favorite- the one where Callista was introduced, but I can honestly say that I loved every bit of this fic. Misty was great, such a novel idea, and I love what you did with Ianto's family, including how you had him keep in touch with the Hallets.
The sheer scope of this story is amazing, both in length and in detail; not being a good creative writer myself I really cannot imagine how you managed it. I will most likely be reading this one again very soon. Possibly tomorrow. ;)
Thank you so much for posting this, it was just the sort of story that I love to read. And there was so much of it, too!
