WISH LIST 2009

Nov 21, 2009 00:50

Step one

a) Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Tara/Willow icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for ____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new laptop/boat/reindeer/house/universe.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

b) If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact information in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

c) Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ along with your list.

Step Two

a) Surf around your friends list (or friends of friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.

And now here's the important part:

b) If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure. So, help out a friend, or random person, and hook 'em up. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf, to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not. It's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just. . . wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. Scarves. I've recently obtained an obsession with scarves. Colourful ones, pashminas, wool, knitted, you name it.

2. Homemade jewellery. I've been looking at etsy a lot lately, and I'd love to wear a beautiful necklace that someone made. If you make jewellery, send some my way!

3. Donations to my Paypal Account. I'm in desperate need of money. My job provides me with less than 10 hours a week, and I'm making minimum wage. Wah wah, yes, I know it's a sob story, but any bit of money helps.

4. Anything from my Amazon.ca wishlist. It can be found here! Used is of course, always welcome.

5. Anything to do with One Tree Hill. DVDs, CDs, books? Idk.

6. Gift cards. Specifically to Starbucks (I'm addicted :[ ), Sephora, or Best Buy. But I'm not opposed to others as well.

7. Art. Anything you've drawn, painted, photographed, collaged, etc. I love art. I love seeing other peoples' work. I will proudly display it in my bedroom for all to see :)

8. Canon Rebel EOS XS. Yes, big dream, big dream. I need this baby.

9. Paid Flickr account

10. Paid account + userpics. I haven't had a paid account in quite awhile. I really miss making icons, so hopefully I'll be able to start that up again.
