CITY UPDATES
It's about time there was some safety and security on this island again! It may have happened behind the scenes, but the Council is
quick to announce the capture of a Brahmin member called Fyllo. It might be fair to say that this is an unexpected turn of events, for while perhaps known for arrogance this faction is not known for such dirty work.
With the murder caught and their allegiance exposed, the Soel Aulic Council declares an open trial to be held. Anyone is welcome to attend, provided they are respectful to the process of justice and do not bear arms. All of the island's crestholders, including the heads of each faction, will be in attendance. This would be an excellent opportunity to observe them, and in turn they will no doubt be observing you.
BANAUSOS
Now that the culprits have been caught, the island should once again be safe for business. Carefully re-evaluate your business contacts, though; anyone connected to this whole incident is probably more trouble than they're worth. There isn't any need to attend the trial. But if you're planning to make good use of the opportunity...
BRAHMIN
No...it cannot be! How could one of your own been a part of this heinous crime? Do not let your guard down, Brahmin, no doubt there will be repercussions from Soeldei residents. It's unlikely that they will openly take their anger out on you, but neither should you linger on the streets alone. Be sure to be at the trial. Even a Brahmin accused deserves your support! Besides...something doesn't feel quite right...
CABAL
Ah, they're all regretting now that they suspected one such as you might have had something to do with this! Use this guilt to your advantage as much as you can and instill it in others where it doesn't blossom on its own. Make your allegiance to justice clear - so that others do not wonder what activities you do on the side. Listen carefully and be sly about what you say. Rumors are your weapons during the trial. Let us see a Brahmin feel the bite of the hangman's noose for once!
CONGERIES
Your absolution has come, Congeries! With your name officially cleared of wrongdoing, you can shed the last of the suspicion cast upon you by this ugly incident. It should be back to work as usual, rebuilding the people's confidence in your invaluable skills and trade. You are the backbone of the island and the people must be made to remember how much you do for the benefit of all. Make your mark on them!
HIEROPHANCE
Now is not the time to give into your basest desires for blood. Hierophance, you must show compassion during this troubled time, especially to those of the faction whose member has been blamed for the crime. Offer solace to those mourning and rattled by hate, but do not seek out to bring ruin upon the Brahmin for unconfirmed wrongs. Visit the trial, watch justice be served, but do not derive pleasure from its outcome. You are there to witness for the gods and higher powers.
LEGION
It should not need to be said that the Legion's place is at the trial. It is your duty to be there as both guard and watchful witness. Do not allow yourself to be swallowed by the pomp and circumstance. Recall always the Legion's nature as hand and club for the law of Soeldei. Here is the result of your hard work and efforts in protecting the streets. But revel silently in your success, do not make a mockery of your faction. Always watch for those who would seek to free the prisoner before the trial is complete. Escape or death, neither must be allowed until justice is served.
MAFIOSO
Everyone is busy concerning themselves with the upcoming trial, making the perfect opportunity for you. Everything you wanted to do while the spotlight was on you is now free game. Have fun, make a mess. Use the time where the average citizen's attention is elsewhere to profit yourselves. And attending the trial as hecklers is more than encouraged.
VIRTUOSO
While the Virtuoso are not the law of the land, they can provide assistance to it. The trial will be underway and it will be vigorous. Lend your minds to that of your superiors and those around you who are seeing to the running the court proceedings. Research, gather information, supply evidence from past trials--do whatever you can to assist them. The smoother this trial goes, the better for everyone on the island.
