Taken Character check-in
The following characters have not signed in to the new
Taken Characters page. If we do not hear from you by the 5th of February, they will be dropped from the game.
53rd_abhorsenasoldierslegacyblood_ohgamidichotomyoftwo - thank you!
goldilockedmazoku_smileworldspoison Scenarios
The fourth set of scenarios
have been posted along with general city updates such as weather and events! This set of scenarios run from 2/01/09 to 02/15/09. Remember, past scenarios can be found at the bottom of each
Faction's page.
New Voting Requirements
We're fast approaching the mark where we'll be needing 5 YES votes per application, and as previously mentioned by the staff we're hoping to get people even more involved in the peer voting system. It's designed to be a real interaction point in the game's running. Now that the players are used to the game's setup and method of organization, we're adding the second section to the monthly Activity Checks starting next month, which will have a place to list your voting.
However, we have some main points we'd like to clarify right away, those being:
→ The number we're looking for is extremely low, likely 1-2 votes (Yes or No) per player in a month. We feel that should be easily achievable for all players and we're hoping for 2 per, but we'll make a final decision and inform the players in the next staff update.
→ This will not apply to players on hiatus, the same as IC activity doesn't apply.
→ The staff will review the amount of received applications over the course of the month and adjust the required number of voting checks accordingly to REDUCE only. We will never increase the required amount of votes without a month's advance notice. If we have fewer than an available number of apps for players to vote on, that section of the AC will be eliminated for that month (although you should still try to vote if you can.)
Although we've included the voting section in this month's Activity Check, that portion will not be counted for the month of January. We're simply introducing the new format, as we did with the practice AC for December.
RE-Applying and Hiatuses
Two new additions to the game's policies have been added as requests have come up.
To re-applying for a character you've previously played in Soeldei, you must resubmit the app with a new sample using a different prompt than the original application, and include a (very small) section on why the character left Soeldei and why they're returning. Unlike games where characters have no control over their arrival/departure, Soeldei's residents all come willingly, so some measure of thought should be given to what caused them to leave and return. The remainder of the application can be used without change, although any suggestions for improvement on the original are encouraged to be included. Put (RE-APP) somewhere in the subject line when posting and once the re-app has gotten the current required number of YES votes, it will be re-added.
For hiatuses, the staff is imposing a one-month grace period on over-extended hiatuses. While the staff realizes that real life issues do sometimes interfere with hopeful dates of return to an RP, indefinite hiatuses detract from the game's overall quality. Hiatuses that have reached 15 days past their projected return will be "nudged". If a hiatus lasts longer than 1 month past the projected return date with no communication from the player, the character(s) will be dropped, although the player is free to reapply in the future following the re-app process stated above.
As always, we welcome player's feedback on any game changes.
