Natalia had quickly put her bag and bow and quiver in her room at the hostel before leaving, making sure to lock the door behind her. She had wanted a room alone to be with her thoughts, but truthfully, the last thing she wanted was to be alone right now. Asch... probably would have told her to move on if he were here...

Natalia let out a sigh before shaking her head. Stay positive... She looked up to see her feet had brought her to some kind of outdoor market. The only city in Auldrant that had an outdoor market was Chesedonia, and even that paled in comparison to this one. There was just so much... people!

Natalia picked a tentative path to walk on as she glanced at what each stall was selling. Intrigued by one stall that seemed to be selling some kind of stationary, she moved closer to see what they were selling exactly.

Whether consciously or unconsciously, Dartz seemed to project an aura about him which made people give him a respectful berth; so when he stopped at the stationary display, the press of the crowd would seem to lessen around Natalia as well by extension.

Bi-coloured eyes -- one turquoise, one golden -- swept over the table of goods before picking up a hand-tied pack of letter templates. "Real velium," he said, turning with a smile towards the young blonde woman. "Infinitely preferred to the cheap, modern imitation made by machines."

"I believe you mean 'vellum'," Natalia couldn't help but correct the man, though her tone was not scathingly so. An honest mistake deserved no scorn. Though she had to wonder at what he meant by the 'cheap, modern imitations made by machines'. Perhaps... wherever he came from, their technology could produce imitations? How odd.

"Though the quality seems better than what I'm accustomed to," she agreed, looking over at the pack he was holding. If there was vellum paper sold here, Natalia wondered if the market had any ink pens and bottles. The strange pen that required clicking was... strange.

Dartz nodded absently, then seemed to realize that the young lady was speaking to him. "Yes, you're right of course. It is vellum in English. Perhaps I was thinking of vélin, as in the French." He touched his temple, making the small silver chain there glint, and smiled. "Too many languages in my memory, I digress."

"I wanted to acquire some letterheads in order to draft some communications to some business associates. I never did make provisions for Paradius' continuance after--"

He stopped, wondering if the lady thought he was slightly addled. "In any case," he finished, "I prefer a more traditional method of writing."

Riza had been walking around, just enjoying a nice relaxing day in the marketplace. She needed to get some supplies for her apartment and she had just gotten some extra Soels from her promotion within the Legion. She hadn't been in the town for that long and she hadn't expected to be promoted this quickly.

Riza paused for a moment to look around before one of the merchants caught her attention and tried to sell her a necklace. She didn't wear any jewelry besides some simple earrings, but that didn't mean she didn't like to look at them.

"I think they would bring out the colour of your eyes," an accented voice commented from nearby, as Dartz watched Riza with his arms clasped comfortably behind him.
