I got on bus 5 instead of bus 15, and only realised it when it got ON THE SLIP ROAD TO PIE AT EUNOS, WTF. The bus driver said there was no way he could let me off the bus, so I had to take the bus all the way to Thomson, where it gets off the PIE. =_=
SO. PIE. =_= The lady next to me was kind enough to tell me that the next MRT station was Novena, so I got off at Novena, and took the train to Dhoby Ghaut, and got on (or tried to) bus 16 home. =_= WHAT A BIG ROUNDABOUT. =_=
Tried to, because the bus was packed, and so many people were just standing in the middle, and not moving to the back of the bus, or at least squeezing a little so others can board. I had to get on at the back (which is the exit). And then when I saw that there was still space at the back, I asked them "if you would please move in". And then when they reluctantly did, I said, "THANK YOU FOR BEING SO KIND." >.> (I must admit I had a slight accent today. Don't know why, maybe some neurons shorted in my brain?)
Which also prompted this Korean girl to ask me in very stilted English which stop should she alight at to get to the Indoor Stadium, and then say that she was thought that it was nice of me to ask people to move in, because she saw the spaces at the back, but was too shy to say anything.
Anyway, I HAVE SPIDEY SENSE. When most of the people got off at the Indoor Stadium (event there, I think), I managed to walk to the front to tap my card, though I could've gotten away with not paying. But a few stops later, the bus conductor got on. Phew! The kids who didn't pay got caught. So they had to fork out cash and say they didn't take the bus ticket when they paid cash when they boarded.
Big misadventure, and I'd really like to curse and swear, but at least it makes for an interesting lunch-time conversation tomorrow at work. D:
