There's no sex, I wanted to test the waters over there so I wrote some 'cute' shit. (which seems to be all I can do lately anyways) They are much nicer than the House fandom. (EXCEPT YOU GUYS)

Title: Amends
Pairing: Adrian/Dan
Rating: PG13 for boy-kissing
Warning: Sex-less. Man kissing though.
Summary: Dan pays a visit to Adrian. mild cuteness. srry

Dan knocked on Adrian's penthouse door, shivering slightly from the cold rain that had drenched him. He removed his glasses and tried to dry them off on his wet shirt.

A useless attempt, obviously.

He sighed and pushed them back up the bridge of his nose. He would never understand why the weather always had to be so terrible whenever he was going to visit Adrian. Rain, snow, blizzards, it was always something. Maybe he should start taking that as a sign to stay away.

"Dan." Adrian raised his head slightly upon opening the door. "I have to admit that I'm surprised to see you here."

Dan pressed his blueing lips together and nodded slightly. "Hello, Adrian. It's certainly been a long time."

"It certainly has," Adrian looked beyond Dan into the hallway and then took a step back. "Forgive me, I'm being rude. Please, would you like to come in?"

Dan felt his heart begin to beat faster. He shouldn't be here. Laurie would disapprove, and Rorschach, well, Adrian had killed him.

Dan began to feel sick.

"Oh, I don't know...I actually just stopped by to - I...I have something for you." Dan pushed his wet glasses back up the bridge of his nose with his finger and then bent down, picking up a box. It was brown and wet, the packaging tape just barely holding it together.

Adrian raised an eyebrow slightly as Dan extended the box towards him.

"It's not a bomb or anything," Dan laughed nervously. "It's just...well, I just thought it might-, well, I don't really know I guess." He lifted the box a bit higher.

"You can't blame me for being cautious." Adrian carefully took the box from Dan and turned, walking over to his desk. He set the box down and pulled open a drawer, taking out a letter opener. He stabbed it rather harshly through the tape and into the box.

Dan widened his eyes, and took a step forward. "You might want to be a little more careful with that."

Adrian's curiosity was peaked, and he now hoped that it was perhaps an Egyptian bust to replace one of the many that Dan and Rorschach had so carelessly destroyed while trying to kill him. He slowly dragged the blade along the length of the box and then set it down. He glanced up at Dan once more, before pulling the flaps open and peering inside.

"Oh. Dan-" He reached down into the box briefly and then looked back up. "Thank you, Dan."

Dan watched as Adrian reached both hands down into the box, and pulled out the Lynx kitten that Dan had found rather difficult to hide from Laurie.

Rats, he had said when she had questioned the sounds coming up from the basement,Really big rats. That had kept her away. Funny how even rats could scare the toughest of women.

"It's not...purple or anything, but I thought, you know-I thought you might like the company after what happened to Bubastis."

Adrian smiled sadly as the lynx batted his large paws at the finger Adrian was circling around over its head. "The purple can he helped. This was very thoughtful of you, Dan."

Adrian scooped the lynx up and placed him firmly under his right arm as he walked over towards Dan, embracing him with his left. Dan hesitated at first, but then returned the embrace, breathing a sigh of relief.

"I'm really glad you stopped by." Adrian lowered his hand and scratched between the Lynx's ears. "You look good, healthy."

"That means I look fat." Dan laughed. "We can't all be God's, Adrian."

"No, I suppose not." He set the lynx down onto the floor and reached out for Dan's hand. "I've really missed you."

Dan felt his face flush, and he cleared his throat and bit his bottom lip as he looked down at his hand in Adrian's. "Look, Adrian, I really should get going. Laurie will be home soon, and I-"

Adrian reached up and placed a finger over Dan's lips. "Shut up, Dan."

And just like that, Dan found himself pressed up against the wall, with Adrian's mouth pressed hungrily over his own and the lynx gnawing on his pant leg. He would have stopped it instantly, if only Adrian hadn't been so damn good at it, which shouldn't have been so surprising considering Adrian was good at everything. He gave in and let Adrian run his tongue up his neck, along his jaw line, on his lips...only when Adrian's hand made it's way between his legs did Dan push him off.

"Adrian-"

"I know, you have to go." Adrian seemed nonplussed about it, and walked over to a mirror on the wall Dan had only moments ago been pressed up against and fussed with his hair. "You should come back soon. Dinner, drinks. That sort of thing. See where the mood takes us."

It wasn't really a question, so Dan decided that it wouldn't be fair say no. He just nodded, zipped up his coat and left, leaving Adrian feeling rather pleased with himself, as always.
