Cruel Intentions - Dear god, it's stupid if you think about it at all. However, the soundtrack, the cinematography, and the pacing are perfect. It does what it intends to do (har har) very well. And the Ryan Phillippe/Reese Witherspoon story still makes me gleeful.
The Shop Around the Corner - You've Got Mail was based on it, and does it better. It's 'cute' but the characters lack that oomph that Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks bring to the story. The love letters are also pretty lame. See You've Got Mail, instead.
Croupier- Clive Owen, the early years. He is so good and I love his writer's hat. The writer that grew up in casino in South Africa, becomes a croupier again - where he finds the subject matter for his new book, some female companionship, and a little heist. It's got that British BBC look.
Ever After- the more times you watch it, the more painful it becomes to listen to Drew Barrymore deliver those awfully cheesy lines in an awful accent ("was there a time, even in its smallest measure, when you loved me?"). But she rescues the prince from gypsies, swims on her own, and spouts utopian ideals, so she's still a rockin' heroine. Also, Dougray Scott is in it and that's reason enough to see it.
Juno - I really love this movie. Juno is smart and spunky and the movie is so sweet. The emotions are very real even if the whole teen pregnancy for such a smart girl doesn't make any sense.
