Congratulations to winners!

A modest request: a few of Hilla's old threads are left unfinished and I'm hoping that characters who are in them could PM me or just reply in those threads. I realize most of you have moved on to new things (as have I) but I'd really like to see some kind of ending to those old ones, too. If I don't hear from anyone I think I'll just finish them myself in any way I see fit. Thanks for understanding.

I would love to do a fun Christmas thread of some sort, but we've had a couple of parties already. Any chance for some crazy weather or something? Getting snowed in could be . . . interesting ; )

I like the idea of getting snowed in, but I'm having a hard time picturing a way we can do it so that everybody can play. IF that's what we want--another everybody-join-in-and-make-subthreads-to-the-main-topic kind of thing.

One bit of reality that might be helpful is that Advent, the four Sundays preceding Christmas, was a relatively penitential time of prayer and fasting--apparently the fasting wasn't as severe as in Lent, but it was there. But once Christmas started, on the 25th, they really did celebrate for twelve days. So "Christmas" to people in the medieval period indicated a season, not a day, in late December and early January. That means our festivities don't have to all take place on the same day, and one person can have a Christmas feast to which people are invited, with somebody else's Christmas feast following in a couple of days.
