I really clung to the idea that a version of the JONAS universe with Mike/Kevin wouldn't address their sexuality as an issue at all. It would be treated just like Joe/Stella is treated. They could be Cutest Couple and hold hands in the hallway and kiss at football games, and nobody inside that world would think anything of it, because it's Disney, and Disney pretty much won't handle anything serious on their shows. So, I wanted to make a mix of sweet love songs about being young and so happy and breathlessly in love, in love like teenagers on a kid's show are in love.
