These don't actually have anything to do with spring. I'm just spring cleaning out all of the prompts I have lying about, and these are the Mike/Kevin ones.

No one's too surprised that Mike and Kevin's relationship has resulted in an unintended pregnancy. Everyone's surprised that Mike's the one who's pregnant.

Bill doesn't like Kevin. Finally Mike says, "You don't get to dislike him. You made your choice, and you chose Christine."

Mage school AU (more Trudi Canavan than JKR). Kevin is a lowly second year student who somehow gets assigned to work on a project with/assist slightly scary seeming sixth year Mike. (They should both be adults - not like JKR young second year.) There would be a lot of working on spells and heads bent over books and wide-eyed looks from other second years when "Carden? I heard he once spelled the first year lounge to spit pea soup on anyone who went into it" stops to say hi to Kevin in the dining room.

So Frankie's not down with all this dating stuff. His brothers are too busy for him now, and they're always dating these girls who, like, tell him he's cute and then try to get rid of him so they can be alone with his brother. But then there's Mike, who's Kevin's new boyfriend. Mike will hang out and play video games with Frankie, and he actually likes it. He's not just doing it to make Kevin like him more. Mike is totally Frankie's favorite.

So someone
suggested a Mike/Kevin version of
Here at the Right Time with Kevin as the sub. I thought, why not the other way around? But then I thought, why not the two of them struggling for control?

The Powers That Be decide that Big Rob isn't enough protection anymore. (IDK if the JoBros should still be the JoBros or if they should be something else that needs protection - rich kids, the president's kids, princes, movie stars.) Big Rob becomes the coordinator of their security team, and they each get their own specific bodyguard. Mike is the guy assigned to Kevin. (Hmmm. Maybe Michael Guy Chislett is assigned to Joe and Butcher to Nick, and Joe keeps trying to get them to switch so he can have the cool tattooed guy with all the awesome balancing talent, but Butcher is slightly better as a bodyguard than MGC and Nick is in the most danger.)
Kevin tries smiling at Mike, but Mike is super serious about his job and not into fraternizing with the client. Still, there's a weird kind of intimacy that forms with people you have to be around all the time. Mike learns to determine Kevin's mood by which scarf he's wearing and how it's draped. Kevin makes sure the chef always has some of Mike's favorite cookies on hand.
Then bad things start happening. It's just threatening letters at first, which they've been getting for years, but Mike knows there's something off about these. Then it's other small things, like the slashed tires on the car they're supposed to take. Then something big happens (Kevin gets shot at? A bomb blows up the car they were supposed to be in?) that means they have to go on the run. Mike has some useful contacts that keep them safe. In the meantime, they're forced closer than they ever have been before and Mike keeps trying to solve the mystery.
The person doing all this should be someone close to Kevin (Zac? Danielle?). I don't know what their reason should be. Maybe they felt slighted by something he did.
Kevin doesn't want to believe it, but Mike sits him down and tells him sternly that it's time to face facts, and part of Kevin already knows it's true. That's when he throws himself at Mike, totally despairing of having connections with people, but here's Mike promising to keep him safe.
And by this time, Mike wants Kevin, with a fierce desire he didn't even know he was capable of anymore. (Maybe because the love of his life was another bodyguard who was killed in the line of duty and Mike's determined never to put himself in an position to lose anyone like that again.) But Kevin is his client, and he needs to keep a clear head so he can keep Kevin safe and alive, and he pushes Kevin away.
So they're both on edge and a little shell-shocked as they go into the final confrontation with the villain. Mike gets shot, but manages to take out the villain anyway.
Mike goes to the hospital, and Kevin gets whisked away by Big Rob and the rest of the security team. Kevin gets a new bodyguard (Sisky?) and Mike's on strict desk/office duty until he heals. But of course they're still pining for each other, and eventually Nick or Joe tells Kevin that if it means that much to him, he should go get Mike. Meanwhile, Bill keeps telling Mike that it's been however many years and it's okay for Mike to love again. So when Nick and Joe practically drag Kevin to the TAI security team office, both Kevin and Mike are both glad to see each other and kind of faily about it, and Nick and Joe and the security team are kind of impatient about it, and then Mike finally flips off Bill without looking and kisses Kevin. Kevin kisses back.
