I had always thought that a big objection to marx was the identification of alienation with some kind of bad. This was accidentally clarified by a joke I made at lunch today:
Being relies on Notion for differentiation from Nothing
In alienated labor, you become a physical appendage of the machine
so, Notion unites with Being, which becomes indistinguishable from Nothing:
it is literally the end of the world.
