1. I scored some watercolor painting from a deliriously lovely young friend of mine.
If you even wanted a living example of an open, sincere, loving, creative spirit, she's it.

2. Observational psychology.
Last night, I was thinking as I was hanging out with The People.
Friends/best friends/aquaintences.
The people you want around you, that you will go out of your way to say Hi to, people that you will share with, and those that you won't.
There are also those that you are attracted to and want to be near, physically and /or emotionally. (spiritually and mentally too.)
First, I noticed that people like similarity to themselves. I'm not like that. Of the people I know (and like), they are all significantly Different from me.
Well, different in likes, desires, looks, aspirations, talents, music tastes. Aesthetic values. They all have a Style.
And the qualities that they all share.
caring, concept articulation, Ideals, acceptance, reflection, interest in something besides themselves. Honesty. Blunt when necessary.
In seeing other people, I notice that one of the main qualities is "Accept what I'm doing, don't question and join in".
Partiers and barhoppers. (druggies also).
Me, not so much.
I also notice that a lot of people's definition of "fun" includes that requirement of "irresponsible-no consequence".
That's for children. This dosn't work if you are a grown up.
Most of the people that I know (that are not "friends) are not Grown up in this way.
I don't mind fun, but I think about the responsibilities and consequences.
This is one reason I hate our present political system.
"Fix it now, let the future fix the fallout"
No.
Come on people! lets grow up and use our brains!
Tangent. Don't get me started.
People. Friends. Qualities.
My friends accept that I don't mentally or emotionally live in the same world as the general populace.
But this also separates me from the general populace and makes it very difficult to "get along" with them. (try getting a job when you speak the same words, but don't speak the same language.)
You know, I like the conscientious fringe people.
That are concerend with a better world n the future.
Selfish, uncaring, hedonists need not apply for this future.
