(no subject)
FINALLY, I feel like things are now coming all together for me.
At the BHA meeting tonight, I signed up for 6 tours and a shift sitting at the Trabant kiosk talking up the program to people interested. That's an average of more than 1 tour a week. Coming off not really touring much in the spring and not having done any yet this semester, I'm excited. I'm all over October. Not to mention, we're now into Blue and Gold Saturdays. I have to miss the first because of band, but I can do the other two.
All in all, I should be at least $200 richer than I will be at the start of October. I need it. I spend far too much on food and eating out.
So not only do I finally feel like I'm back into the swing of things with the job, I'm finally getting my act together academically. I guess I was just worried those first few weeks cause there were no exams, but now that exam 1 time is on the horizon, the motivation is starting to kick in...albeit slowly, but it is.
And socially? Well. I've seemed to struggle with how I "fit in" the past two years, but that doesn't seem to be much of a problem anymore. My social circles have now all seemed to mesh nicely into one large extended group of musically-inclined bandos, band drop-outs, groupies, and Greeks. Works for me. I also like having freshmen. Last year was a little awkward cause I had this weird superiority complex, but I'm loving the 2010'ers. There's this one group of girls that are like my little proteges. I wonder if I was really like that as a freshman too...
Again back to that surreal feeling of assuming the roles of those that you used to look up to when you were younger. I am now that person. I think at first I was a little reluctant to accept it (depending on the role), but I'm most certainly learning to embrace it and love it now. Band staff. SAI exec. Party hostess. Adult sister/daughter to my family. An ex. An object of desire (hah)
We'll see how that goes. Things certainly have taken a turn for the interesting over the past 24 hours. Is Marissa headed back into relationship-land...? Stay tuned!
