My Christmas Decorations, Part 2
These are close-ups of some of our tree ornaments.
Hee, hee, hee…look, a Texas sock monkey.
I really like these enamel-painted animals from China: hummingbirds, butterflies, dragonflies, and fish. (Plus one green-haired mermaid.) I bent the branches (it’s an artificial tree) to form a deep grotto and hung the fish there, so that when the room lights are dimmed it looks as if they’re swimming in an underwater cave, with bluish light filtering in from…uhh…the moon, or luminescent glowworms, or…something. Anyway, the kids love it.
The little silver bell with the brown ribbon is a replica of the one in The Polar Express. Raise your hand if you can still hear it ring! *fist pump*
