*flails* I give up; I need some help! Is it possible for me to edit a comment that I've left on someone else's journal? I know I can delete my comment and then post a corrected one, but can I just edit my comment instead ( Read more... )

You should be able to by clicking on the little pencil Icon in your comment next to the delete. If it is not there, then you do have that option available to you. Maybe the person can set something in thier journal not allowing it, perhaps another person commented to your comment and you can't change it now, or if you dont have a paid journal it might not be available to you.

The Paid Journal thingy seems to be the culprit -- although I'll look to see if there's a pencil icon in my comments, just to be sure! Thanks, Cafe!

You can only edit comments if you have a Paid or Permanent account.

Ahah! I had a feeling that that was the case. Thanks!

Also, FYI, if you have email notifications of comments, you'll get an email from the first comment and then another from the edited comment. So if the purpose was so the person wouldn't SEE the first comment, yeah. They will.

Yep, that multiple e-mails thing was the main reason that I became interested in comment editing. Fortunately I've never left a comment that I later decided I'd be horrified for the person to see; I just hoped to avoid clogging someone's e-mail box with nine different versions of my comment! ;D
