Oz, On Literature (An Oz Poem)

Oh, dear...this is my first -- and if we're all lucky, only -- foray into rhyme-writing. O__O
I made it for a poetry challenge on an Angel message board some months back, and decided to tuck it in here because...eh, because it's Oz and I lurvs him. ;)

Oz, On Literature

He used to read The Jungle Book
And wonder how the world would look
Through Mowgli’s eyes.

Noble hunters, Nature’s call,
Honorable Jungle Law,
A life of pride.

Pristine, innocent forest land;
A loving bond of wolf and man.
“Sweet,” he sighed.

Then Luna screamed
And filled his dreams
With gore and lust;
No law, no trust
And now he deems
That Kipling lied.
