She's in the photographs, he thinks, meant to be my daughter, although it's a genetic improbability that a girl who looks like this could have come from me and the "wife." At any rate, he would remember that kind of contact with a woman.
Finally, he says in a calm, flat tone,]
There's no need to be so noisy. You will tell me where we are?
[He will not necessarily trust her answers, but he'd like to get a read on her nonetheless.]

["Newly abducted," at least, and there's no way yet to be sure of whether this girl is a fellow victim or a willing participant. All he knows is that the photographs depict them as a family, but they're photographs which he certainly never posed for. The way her gaze snakes over to them suggests that she's looking for some kind of confirmation; that makes them a good place to start.]
