[Derek's a little tense at the arrival of someone he doesn't know, but he relaxes a bit when the guy smells human, and he recognizes his voice.]

There are? Good to know. Hopefully it'll save me from having to cook all the time.

What, y'don't like cookin'? I can always take th'job off your hands for ya.

[He limps right on over.]

Left any bacon?

I like it, but not enough to do it all the time. Especially not every time I get hungry.

[He steps aside to allow him access to the bacon.]

Figured it'd probably be a little too mean to taunt people with the mention of bacon and then not have any.

[By which he means, his girlfriend would yell at him if he did that.]

[Zeke takes a piece of bacon and OM NOM NOMs it.

And when he swallows he wipes his hands on his pants and holds out a hand.]

I'm Zeke. Ezekiel Lerish.

[He snorts slightly at that. That's not a comment he's heard often, except when he was being patronized back at Lyle House.

He shakes the guy's hand when it's offered, though, being careful not to grip too hard.]

Derek. How long've you been here?

Not long. A week maybe.

[Zeke drops his hand and grabs another piece of bacon.]

Ah. That explains why I didn't remember seeing you around.

Looks like you adjusted fast.

Eh, well, this isn't th'first time this has happened to me.

[sociopathicwolf]

[He pauses in going for another piece of bacon to frown a bit at that.]

'This' as in being kidnapped, or 'this' as in this specific situation?

The situation. I already spent th'past two years on some magical boat. The Captain was bringin' us to a place called the Golden Shore as refuge after our worlds were destroyed.

[The 'it didn't end well' goes unsaid.]

I was there for a while before showin' up here.

[sociopathicwolf]

[There's a moment of silence as he processes that.]

Never figured there'd be one person who uses 'your worlds have been destroyed' as an excuse for kidnapping, let alone two.

There's prolly more than y'think, kid.

[He grimaces.]

That's not at all encouraging. Especially since this guy kidnapped you from another guy powerful enough to do multi-dimensional kidnapping.
