This was my favorite comment you got:

so locke gave this puke an award. oh well it shows what a liberal mess this commie state is in. if you really want to enjoy some thing, go apply for a washington state driver,s license. they grilled me like there was no tomorrow. i had passport, orignal birth certificate, voters card, etc, and they still hasseled me. to top it off there at least 20 illegal aliens there and went thru with not even a blink of an eye. i asked the teller if i were illegal would there be less hassle. she just gave me a sly grin. what a state. i only been a born and bred americian for 65 years.

I prefer: “Hays is part of PeaceGuard Northwest, a group of anti-globalization activists who give aid to demonstrators such as the Wombles, a United Kingdom-based group that creates a human barrier between police and protesters with pads and gas masks”

Peaceful protestors do not need padding, gas masks, etc. Terrorists and terrorist supporters do.

Sounds more like a terrorist than a peace activist; I’ll even give the benefit of doubt and say wantabe terrorist.

Much ado about what he claims to be required when is the official proof? Maybe the PI can print copies of the request letters from the State department with his dob, ssan, and address blacked out; as we know his name leave that visible.

Without these, this article is a no-brainer lets bash America again by raising all sorts of accusations that play well with brainwashed people propaganda.

PROOF, PROOF, say again PROOF.

Peaceful protestors do not need padding, gas masks, etc.

In a perfect world they wouldn't, but how many peaceful protestors have been gassed and shot at with rubber bullets? A FUCKING LOT OF THEM.

I had to stop reading the comments; the ignorance made my head spin.

I read the .pdf letter. Did Mr. Hays really submit a PO Box as his address? That alone could be a red flag. It says clearly on the application form to not use a PO Box address.

As for the delay, the US has new passport rules. They are saying to allow up to 10 weeks for processing instead of the usual 6-8 weeks.

Perhaps Mr. Hays is just a little paranoid. However, I wouldn't be shocked if he were in some sort of government database such as a No Fly List.
