Going down the stairs to my floor tonight, I ran into my friend Brenna, coming from the other direction. We hadn't seen each other since our class got out last semester, so she was somewhat more animated than usual in saying hi. Then one of her friends starts shouting about how much she missed me; I give her a long blank stare, confirming I have never seen this person in my life. She and another girl proceed to bear hug me and act like I'm their bestest friend on the planet. I was too stunned to give anyone my name until they asked. I think Brenna was embarrassed.
Yeah, you probably had to be there.
On a much more somber note, but even more stunning: Will Eisner dies at 87 of complications following heart bypass. He was, by all accounts, a kind, generous man, and an absolute creative genius.
Man oh man. Rest in peace, sir; I'll probably never understand just how much you gave us.
