New things learnt today...
In my German politics seminar earlier we were discussing Die Linke("The Left Party") and how their colour is purple. Our lecturer found it so funny and asked what purple meant to us. I suggested Spanish Republicanism which was patted down with "well I suppose you've got the excuse of being in Spain for a year". The actual answer was Feminism, which I and my peers were startled by. We all had never heard of purple as being associated with Feminism. Is this a lack of subculture knowledge on our part or just indicative of how Feminism has now become tamed and is unimportant in today's society? (You decide!).
