the trouble with work

If you live in the US, you may want to consider having a doctor fill out an FMLA form for you if possible. I can't work or drive due to my anxiety and agoraphobia, so my husband was actually able to get FMLA for my condition should he ever need to leave work to help me. It will help protect your job and give you a set amount of time you can miss for your SA.

Anxiety issues can take a long time and effort to overcome. I've tried many medications and therapy with very little forward progress. It's a trial and error process, unfortunately, and there is no magic pill to make it just go away.

As far as leaving your current job... if it's making you unhappy, it's perfectly acceptable to leave. If a future employer questions it, you can say you wanted to move on to something you are more passionate about or that you feel fits your goals better.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey through this. Anxiety disorders can be incredibly crippling and it takes time to fight it, but it is possible to find ways to cope with it better or even for some to move past it.
