well today has been really long. or it seemed to go by really slowly.
today i went to my friend Matt Wallace's funeral. Everyone was to meet up at the Funeral home in Leonardtown, the one across from CSM. At 7 the funeral procession started. The Patriot Guard Riders were there. I would have to say that the St. Mary's County Police made it really easy to get from Leonardtown to Arlington with little trouble. And I would also have to say that they did a really good job at it to. I'm glad they did what they did. The whole way up we basically had the rode to ourselves. Which was surprising due to the fact that it was rush hour and many people were late to work this morning cause of us. But I'm glad that it went as smoothly as it did. They practically closed down most of D.C. so we could get him to The Arlington National Cemetary. We got to the Arlington Cemetary early. We had 45 minutes to spare before we were scheduled for the funeral.
at the Arlington Cemetary they bury at least 15 to 20 people there a day. so the funeral ceremonies go by really quick. i think each is about 30 minutes long. but it was really nice. afterwards ashley, brenna and i were talking. and we think that matt would have had the last laugh. and would've been really happy that they closed down most of D.C. just so his procession could go through. and that he would have had the last laugh for his funeral being scheduled on the hottest day ever and the fact that everyone was sweating their butts off..
the funeral was really nice. i was really glad that i had the chance to go and that i didnt have to work today.
after the funeral ashley, brenna, kyle and i went to Pentagon City Mall.. Not that impressive.. though i did come to notice my fear of heights greatly.. but i did get to get 'V for Vendetta' cause ive always wanted to see it.. so i finally bought it.. then ashley, brenna, and i spent the rest of the day driving around Arlington, D.C., and Baltimore.. we went and saw "You, Me, and Dupree".. and barely made it back to BWI for ashley to catch her plan back to florida..
all in all.. today went pretty well..
