so why am i writing in livejournal? yeah well. i never said i was logical.
so last night i went out with adam and a couple of his friends. two of the guys are brothers and they are very weird in the awesome sort of way. you never know what to really expect. by far the funniest thing of the night was when Kason turned to me and says "do you know a girl named sarah?" i'm sitting here thinking, "what, do you want me to just start naming off the people i know named sarah? with an h or without?" but then he says that she is a first year chem grad student. and it turns out i did know who he was talking about. so we established that. and then i was expecting him to say something like tell her i say hi or something like that, when he says "yeah, you probably shouldn't mention me". oooh. oh-kay. i guess it is he is just friends with an ex of hers from her undergrad and it didn't end so well. at least for the guy. which could mean sarah would have no problems. but i don't really care, so i'm not going to worry about it. it turns out kason knows several pomona people (one which i knew about 'cause i found out who he was earlier this summer, but he has visited out there since he has been down at ucla. weird freaky small world). oh yeah, and kason asked if my mom was a hippie (which she found rather amusing when i told her about it tonight). 'cause i was wearing the cool ring that is actually three rings that is brightly colored and shiny that she gave me for my birthday this year. but yeah, we all went to a midnight movie which is why i have to go to bed soon 'cause i have to teach at 10 tomorrow... it was "spike and mike's sick and twisted animations" so a whole bunch of these shorts done by lots of people. there was a great one with a lobster and then a couple with the "happy tree friends" that had some things that were just wrong, but still hilarious. or maybe that was just 'cause we were stoned. whatever.
yeah i dunno. the rest of the weekend has been pretty low key. got told by the smog check people i should stop spending money on my car. it passed because i had spent the money 6 months ago. apparently an '88 camry isn't worth keeping around to them. but i need it for at least another year since i just spent $120 between the smog check and the registration cost itself to re-register it. although i guess $120 isn't much compared to a new car. i'll stick with the bus, thankyouverymuch.
michelle is finally back. i took her to the airport a week and a half ago to go to berkeley to collect data, and then she went straight to san diego to see her boyfriend, and they just made it back here last night. i don't mind having the place to myself so much. it is just that it would be nice if it were a little neater, and the mess isn't mine. although i did take care of the card table and folding chairs finally like i was supposed to. but that was partially because i nearly lost my little toe several times on the chairs 'cause they were in the way.
ok. 5 minutes to brush my teeth and wash my face, and pack up for school tomorrow, including playing soccer tomorrow night. woo hoo, soccer is back. sweeeeeet.
