Wired on mountain dew

Today has been an emotional yet fun day, or should I say yesterday. First of all, I am afflicted by the roommate curse. At the beginning, I didn't have a roommate because my original one decided to move into an apartment instead. I met her at an Honors College event later on and she's cool. Then a couple weeks later I got another roommate, one that happens to be from China. Xiao is awesome and we get along great, the only thing is that she is not around too often and a cultural problem surfaces. She is not comfortable with having guys in our room. Also, our suitemates have boyfriends over every day and just hearing their voices makes her uncomfortable. It is a big cultural difference for her. Some international students adapt, but she has been unable to. Therefore, she will be moving out in a week. However, the main reason she is leaving is because her parents found out and basicly ordered her to move. She keeps assuring me that it was nothing that I did and I believe her. I think it is the best choice for both of us. She can live somewhere where she will feel more comfortable and I won't have restrictions. We even made up a contract with our RA saying that all guests must leave by 1:00 am. So once again I end up alone for a bit, which I don't mind. I want to do some remodeling anyway.

Ok so on to the fun part. Ricky came and visited me. Of course he always makes me happy. Then I went to Rec Fest with friends. It's this big event in the rec center. They had a mechanical bull, toliet racing, cake walk, tarot cards, make your own cd/dvd/tie dye shirt, and stuff like that. We didn't do that much stuff because we had to wait in these long lines. So we got our picture taken with crazy props in a big blow up couch, did the cake walk, and made tie dye shirts. There was also free food and a hip hop performance. It was cool. The sad part is that none of us won any of the big prizes that they were raffling. Then we returned to the dorms and watched Boondock Saints. And now I'm completely awake and shouldn't be.
