Athens is a hick town

So we went to Athens. My team- at first I was a little selfish about even calling them my team- warmed up, laughed and put our hands in, then went out to play. And we won. Then we walked off the field feeling good about ourselves, and killed 5 hours doing basically nothing. I took a nap and saw an old, but still very dear, friend. When we were reunited as a team, we warmed up in a pretty identical fashion, laughed, put our hands in, and then went out to play again. And we tied; A very bad team. So we went home; it was 8:30. I didnt pull in the driveway until almost 11 thanks to dinner and I- 85 South. But I went to sleep feeling like a pretty good captain, because we were undefeated afterall. Then I woke up, went back to Athens, and played in my sleep- I swear. I cant tell you 2 things that happened in that game because I dont remember it at all. It was long and hot. We also tied. There was not a championship match because this was a "friendlies" tournament. However, thanks to the point system and the fact that it is a TOURNAMENT, there were trophies plaques and we did come in second- by default- so we had a little ceremony. I say "by default" because it was a very, very close call as to who came in first and who came in second. (especially since we tied each other) The team that came in first had a 1-0-2 record (W/L/T) just like us- to the exact same teams, with pretty much the same scores. HOWEVER the team we both beat- they beat by 1 point more than us. So they were BARELY the champions. Oh well. I scored our only two points- but two goals in 3 games is not really a good thing. But they were pretty cool goals, and it got me pumped: I scored in the first 6 minutes of the first game- bent the ball, it swung away from the keepers fingers, hit the right post and bounced into the left side pocket. haha Then in the second half, AK crossed the ball from the right corner and I just tapped it- I dont even remember which side- past the keeper. That was my weekend. I'm going to go eat now. Laters
