[Daisuke had been hearing about kidnappings for a while now, and they always sounded like a thrilling blend of mystert and adventure from the stories people told upon return. Not that it was ever a goof thing to have friends go missing for weeks at a time, but Daisuke had always assumed that when his time xame, he'd be whisked off to some fabulous ( Read more... )

could use a nap, is totally fine really, past his bedtime, un-kidnapped, so ready to go home, hates scientists, had to wrestle a digimon, at least he got to miss killer butterfli, with apologies to the current residents

[If it's perfectly natural for an eleven-year-old to be wandering after midnight, it's even more natural for a twelve year old to be, right? Really he's hovering around the front of their community building. After the excitement of trying to surpass Haruki passed, Taichi had gone back to semi-patiently waiting for Daisuke to return. When he does spot the younger boy suddenly though, he doesn't say anything right away. This might be harder than he thought.]

[There's no need for anything to be hard! It takes Daisuke some time to spot Taichi, but when he does his pace quickens and his posture improves. He has absolutely no intention of being gloomy around Taichi. He forces a half-smile once he's close enough.] ...Hey.

[Man...Daisuke really was too much like him sometimes. He waves though and returns with a half-smile of his own.] About time, dude.

[Only because he's modeled himself after the best!] Yeah, well--had some stuff to do. You know how it is.

[But that could be a problem D:] Kind of a long time to be away to do some stuff.

[NEVER. Taichi's the most amazing guy ever.] It was important kinda stuff.

Important kinda stuff that you can't even bother telling me?

[His grin falters. Lying requires a lot more thinking than he's prepared to do right now.] ..I'm going inside. You can come if you want.

[Just as he thought. He shrugs and starts heading inside. But then he decides it's best to bite the bullet.] So. What really happened?

Same stuff that happens to everyone, I guess. [Daisuke follows, the tone of his voice picking up once he remembers it.] But it wasn't anything I couldn't handle! Did I miss anything cool?

You missed a lot of weird stuff, none of it being really cool. But stop being vague.

I don't-- I just.. ["I wanna go home." But he's not about to admit that to Taichi of all people, so going to be uncharacteristically mum about the experience.] What do you mean? Weird like how?

[He's already walking them back to the apartment though, so Daisuke can crash in a bit] Killer butterflies, flaming trees falling from the sky, and people disappearing into another plane for like five days...

[Which would be perfectly fine, if that was the kind of home he wanted. Crashing's not good enough when one doesn't feel well and really just plain wants a mom around.] All at once? -- Did you say flaming trees??

[Yes but he can't provide that D:] Not all at once, but like back to back. It was totally freaky.

[He could at least put on an apron and pretend. :|] Is everyone okay? Nobody got killed by the killer butterflies, did they? [Thank you Digital World for making the concept of "killer butterflies" easy to take seriously.]
