This is the noise that keeps me awake
I've been AWOL from LJ for so long that I forgot how to operate it. Apparently, I posted this as "private", so nobody had the displeasure of reading seeing it on their way to other posts.

Friday night, at a Seder (see, I can still claim observation of Judaism), when I offered a claim that I'd be driving to the city (to counter my own admission that I do not drive more than 5 miles from home), the next statement was "to see Garbage". Perhaps because of the name of the band, I immediately became defensive.
"Kids, what they name bands these days...."
My response was "Yeah, it's not as cool as "The Loving Spoonful". My point was made and I am still somewhat disturbed that that was the first band that I thought of. The point was/is that band names have always been stupid and this one is cool as it is ironic or something. Other horrible names include Steely Dan, Question Mark and the Mysterians,
