Keepin' busy.
Today, I woke up randomly before my alarm went off for no reason. I felt pretty good, but because my alarm hadn't gone off, I forced myself back to sleep. Woke up from the weirdest dream when my alarm went off where one of my friends had been shot a few times. He had lost a lot of blood, but hadn't died when the dream ended. I then got dressed and went to class. We watched a clip from Jon Stewart where he was railing on all of the presidents from the past 40 years because they keep promising a new energy future plan and not delivering anything that resembles it. The promises have actually been regressive as the years have gone on: from promising independence from foreign oil by 1980 to promising a 75% reduction in dependence on foreign oil by 2010. None of these have been kept. I then did some more data analysis for the lab. Then we went to class and Axelbaum bored the begeezus out of us about heat exchangers. Then we sort of wasted an hour until Senior Toast. Had some food, a glass of wine, a glass of champagne, and hung out with a bunch of friends. The purpose of Senior Toast was to find out who our Commencement speaker was going to be: Elie Wiesel. It seems like he's lived a really interesting life and it'll be interesting to see what he has to say to us. I then came back and did some more lab work before meeting with my lab partner, Michal. He already had a lot of the lab report done, so we just talked about the last few things we had to do and then we were done after a couple of hours. He took it home to do a bit more, but that was it. I then hung out for a bit more and tried to be productive, but couldn't really do it. Sarah and I sifted through all of the old junk in the AIChE lounge and found some real gems. Funny pictures, check books, floppy disks. It was a real throwback. Then when we finally tried to sit down and get back to work, the power went out for 5 minutes which turned all of the computers off. Took that as a sign to leave once the power turned back on. It's really creepy in the basement of Sever without any power. The power came back on and I started to leave. Ran into Dan who was really angry because he lost a bunch of work on his computer when the power went out. I then went and got dinner and chilled with some residents in the hall until 1ish. I then took a shower and laid in bed while I pretended to study for a test in the morning.
