I love D-day. I woke up and got ready for school slowly this morning. I meandered onto campus and proceeded to the Town Hall. Lots of people were there and we headed into the Concert Hall for our D-day speaker-- Neely Harris, editor of Mental Floss and ISS alum. She was funny and a good speaker that talked about how against all odds, they opened this tiny magazine that ended up rather large. She was excited and glad to be into her sixth year in a business with a lot of turnover for new magazines. After that it was the Olympic Games. Our team sucked, but it was fun. My team was a mix of seniors and eighth graders. It was interesting. The senior teams won the Olympic Games. We had lunch down by the hut. The juniors and myself went to get our water guns and balloons after eating. It was very fun, but I feel bad about shooting people unless they're armed. After that it was time for our projects. (I know, projects in the afternoon is weird, but it turned out okay) Then it was time for a Town Meeting after that. It was about tolerance at our school. This discussion was sparked after lots of disrespect during the Day of Silence a week or two ago. It was a decent Town Meeting, but little progress was made and people were left not getting to say what they wanted again. Hopefully things will be better, but its hard when our friends always joke with eachother and are more than comfortable calling eachother anything, true or not. I decided that any problem that can not be expressed in a sentence, is too complicated and multifaceted to be worth my extreme investment of time. After that I got my ass into the lake to swim a bit. My shoulder is not strong enough to swim for real, so I did a lot of floating. It was nice, but awkward since I was by myself and people were all around. So I left and went to take a shower. After the shower, I met up with people at Evan's and then we went to eat at Kobe. Tripp didn't come to eat with us. Apparently he is having some sort of personal troubles. I'm slightly worried about him. I hope everything is okay. Evan, David, Sefan, Shan, Keehn, Ben and I finally got in and then ate. Afterwards some went to a party, Ben was having some gf troubles which I listened to patiently on the way to get my car. He told me he'd call after they got done talking and I drove home. I really didn't want to be home yet. I wanted to be out somewhere with someone random or something. I didn't want to be at a party though. Hanging out with Ben would have been nice so we could talk. There's a lot going on in both of our heads that would be good to talk out. I finally got home and then I got on the computer. Now I'm talking to Elizabeth and just chilling. It's another nice night out and summer feels like it's here, especially with everyone wearing flip-flops and my desire for Lane. Okay, good night beatiful night.
