Number One Fan is a band who self-released this full-length, and deserve, in all honesty, extreme success. 'Compromises' is the perfect blend between Jimmy Eat World's pop-rockness and Copeland's sincerely driven, passionate vocal and songwriting style. Lots of piano, vibes, and beautifully woven acoustic guitar make them a band you must hear.
From the beautiful "Come On" to the insanely perfect "It's Happening," piano and all, this band sounds like they are even beyond Copeland's caliber. Believe me when I say Copeland is an amazing band, because they are, but wow, I was stunned at the sheer solidness of Number One Fan. 'The Prettiest Sin' is a ballad that crescendos into a wall of perfection with its chorus ("this will change anything I'm sure...."). The band comes on so strong, but remains completely passionate and compelling with their smooth, sincere vocal style.
If anything, Number One Fan is what we've all been waiting for; the perfect blend between technical, midwest style pop rock and sincere pop ballads with compassionate vocals. You haven't heard of this band yet, but you should definitely pick up this album, because they're given so little credit and deserve the world.
