Being back in LA certainly has its perks. Especially if you are 21 and those perks are of the alcohol variety.
In the 3 weeks since I have been back in Los Angeles, I have managed to successfully utilize my new 21-ness to the fullest. I've been to Sharkeez (lame), had a couple of Rome reunions that quickly turned into shitshows (as only us rome kids can do) and of course there's always the odds and ends bottles of wine and vodka that are now in our apartment.
But this past week I think I have set a new record: Drinking all 5 nights of the week (this is a first for me). I wasn't drunk every night mind you, but let's recap.
Monday: The new tradition in our place is to invite people over late in the evening for a rousing episode of the HBO special "Cathouse". I think the title alone should clue you in to what the show is about. Anyways, wine was consumed and the documentary on brothels was viewed.
Tuesday: In spirit of LMU tradition, everyone who is anyone goes to POW's for cheap drinks and good times. Given this was my first POWs experience, I enjoyed the festivities with a few cups of beer.
Wednesday: SHACK NIGHT! But since the line was ridiculously long for the Shack, Jamie and I managed to walk from our apartment down the hill and into the sketchy but amusing bar called Mo's where we treated ourselves to some drinks and were consquently hit on by a creepy old man named Bruce who claimed he worked for Lions Gate. RIIIGHT. God bless the Irish bouncer who saved us.
Thursday: Tired after a busy week, I resigned myself not to drink. But then Skyler insisted that it was roommate bonding night, and the 3 of us managed to polish off a bottle of champagne and passed out. Not before watching another episode of Cathouse of course.
Friday: Jamie and I had been wanting to try out this British Pub in Santa Monica for awhile so we headed down there and had a couple of "Snakebites" (beer and cider) and bonded with the people there who were originally from overseas. Cheers.
Now it is Sunday and I am back in Orange County visiting friends and family with a sinus infection. Cute. So much for partying like a rock star.
