In Italy it's called sparkling wine, not champagne

I'm in an irrationally good mood right now.

Maybe it's due to the massive iced chai I just consumed, or the fact that the weather has been absolutely GORGEOUS these past few days, or the fact that I'm leaving for Europe in 4 days.  Somehow I think that the last of the three is our big winner here.

Somewhere between typing out my flight intinerary and looking at my eurail map it hit me that I was really going.  It's almost a surreal experience since I have been talking about it since last winter, and here I am sitting at my computer, with clothes in piles and a converter set and my noise-free headphones sitting on the floor all ready to go into my suitcase that is supposed to weigh less than 44 lbs (we'll see about that).  It's going to be the adventure of a lifetime, and I'm so up for it.

Aside from getting ready to leave, these past few weeks have just been nice, being able to relax at home and catch up with my family.  This past semester I was such a stress case 99% of the time that I really didn't give myself the chance to be completely lazy and be able to say "whateva...I do what I want," so I guess you could say I'm making up for lost time...it's given me some time to gain perspective on life and whatnot, so that's always a good thing.

So cheers to summertime, cheers to Europe, and cheers to having peace of mind (for the next few weeks anyways)

ps- if anyone would like to act as my personal translator in Spain, Italy, and France, your services would be greatly appreciated.
