Do geese mind walking on wet grass?

Today I used a circular saw for the very first time. It's very surreal to be in your latin classroom cutting two-by-fours and listening to a hammer echoing through the halls after school.

Why, you ask, would anyone voluntarily stay after school to play with power tools? (Unless you really like power tools, in which case you don't ask)

I'm making a Ballista with the Latin club. My friend Z. and I decided to name it. We're calling it B (Bee), and I had a tiny internal Squee moment when I realised we were (sort of) naming it after the Slayer.

My mum and I started singing Edith Piaf songs while washing the dishes. And 'cause I'm a french Imm. dork, I called her Edith (like Ay-deet) the french pronunciation. Apparently, though, she's known as Edith (like Eee-dith) in english, which just doesn't sound as cool and regal.

I'm really looking forward to the weekend when I can finish my Buffy marathon. I watched School Hard, Lovers Walk, Harsh Light and Something Blue on Saturday. It's really amazing how much Spike's speech patterns change, even in School Hard. His first scene is noticeably different from the scene with Dru and the Annoying One at the end. He v. much improved.
