I am a software geek, not a hardware geek.
Fucking computer won't let me into my D drive-- which is my second hard disk (has no system stuff but all my music and photos)
I can get into the shortcuts on my start menu, but if I try to delete anything or move something, I get a no access message. If I try to open it right from Explorer, I get denied right away. Yet it seems to be working in Safe Mode
I've tried system restores, I've tried my back up software... but I can't find my backup file. System restore wouldn't let me choose to add the D drive the first couple times, and now it won't work at all- says I have to choose a drive, but doesn't let me. Oh, and now I'm being told I no longer have malware protection. AVG is gone? W.T.F.?!?!
As soon as I get into my D drive to back up my music, I'm getting rid of Vista and installing Kubuntu. Linux FTW.
Any hardware geeks out there in the blogosphere? Ayudame!
