today was incredibly shit.
my brother ruined my day. god he's an annoying asshole... he keeps at me about the same thing i don't want to know about. it's so fucking infuriating.
there's nothing i can do about it. any sign i'm annoyed will make him annoy me even more. and it's SO frustrating... that had me in such a fucking shit mood.
i went to see the tall guy and i didn't seem to get any better. we went for a walk, and ended up going up and down like, 15 flights of stairs... which was difficult.. my legs felt like lead... but i did it..eventually...
(rule- do not exercise when shitty..just makes you negative..well. even MORE so)..
so after that i just diagnosed myself unfit for human company and came home.
I was not a happy camper at all. and the CD in my cd player didn't help either...
I listened to Bob Marley and the Buena Visa Social club. all the way home and i had a nice little cry.
Those two musical acts bring back so many memories from my 2 week trip to Central America...
easily the best time in my whole life... I was by myself. meeting new people, making new friends... each song seemed to bring back a different time...
Meeting Bryce for the first time... and susi, we were just drawn to each other the instant our eyes met and we both smiled...
That god damned volcano i almost killed myself climbing to the top... but i did it! and i was so proud of myself... then the bus driver getting us lost on the way back down cause the road was closed.
We had to sit by the side of the road for 20 minutes at one point as cattle crossed the street. and while the bus driver kept making phone calls all the way back down the mountain..
Getting off the bus and ducking into the FIRST eating place we saw cause we were DYING of hunger. a snickers bar got me up and down that god damned volcano!
The first day out of Antigua where we stopped for road beers at 8am and managed to convince the lady behind the counter to sell her her bottle opener so we could drink them then...
Sitting in the back of the bus playing boardgames meeting our new travel mates who were so awesome...
That night we went out in Honduras with our bus driver... we went to a bar called 'el sapo rojo' (the red frog), and took over the second floor. Bryce had his guitar, (we met our tour guide who was taking us round the ruins the next day!), and we sat and drank beer and listened to our future guide play 'i can't get no satisfaction' lazily on the guitar, while the barmaids closed the bar to outsiders, but kept serving us beer... such a great night...
The way Bryce and i just gravitated to each other... we just clicked and became such good friends.. When we got to Flores (a small island on a lake in guatemala), we got the quick 'tour' of the town and something as simple as 'mariel, lets go get some ice-cream' from Bryce, turned into a half day mega-adventure...
The horse we nearly ran over when heading to Tikal national park. There was so much fog luis (our bus driver), saw the horse just in time. All i saw was a big blurr across my window as the bus swerved slightly...
The sound of the howler monkeys letting us know autumn was coming in the forest... (it was the most horrible sound ever)..
Climbing 4 Mayan pyramids in that park. We walked 7 kilometers that day, and had a massive delicious lunch waiting for us at the end...
The best thing in the whole world is frijoles, cream cheese, and turkey ham... fucking.yum!
getting to San Ignacio in Belize, and forgetting that they speak english... *giggles*
Getting to Belize city and watching in amazement how massive the cemetery was...all the tombstones painted different almost fluro colours....
taking off our watches in caye caulker cause we never wanted to leave..
eating $15USD whole lobster, with garlic butter and the most delicious potato mash you've ever tasted.
Drinking coconut rum and coke at the tip of the island at sunset, dancing with local rastas to Caribbean tunes...
sailing in a boat with no shoes on, while manatees followed us gracefully... swimming with stingrays and watching the pretty coral on the reef....
The disappointment of leaving that wonderful island...
The disappointment in Cancun that we all had to part ways..
Bryce staying an extra day because he wasn't ready to leave Mexico and go back to New Zealand..
The day we spent, me helping him write a song about the orphanage we visited in honduras..
going shopping for Tack... (tacky souviners)in Mexico... hah..
Getting caught up in the rain in cancun that flooded the street, not being able to get a taxi cause they were all flooded... the water rushing out as the door opened...
walking through the flooded streets... being incredibly THIN! look at me! look! thin! i wish i was that thin right now!
*big sigh*..
easily the best time of my life...
it's so depressing that it's over and I'll never get it back.. it will never be the same... its just a sealed piece of time... absolutely perfect in every way...
i hate that things come to an end...
