saturday night
okay, so i'm on facebook, and i've been found by a bunch of girls i went to highschool with.
We all agreed to meet up today, and i guess in my still 'single' mind, i figured it was just the girls getting together for a drink or two to catch up.
Turns out EVERYONE had their partners with them. except me. BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A GIRLS NIGHT OUT.
am i really still in that frame of mind?
I feel guilty not inviting... *takes a deep breath*. my other half... it was never mentioned, so i didn't really think about it...
i guess i forget people are married and stuff... i dunno.
my guilt aside, i had a really great time tonight. it was so good to catch up with everyone.
Especially Alison.
when we were in grade 12, her boyfriend at the time was a friend of mine. he even helped me out with an assignment for my film class, where we spent a day filming stuff and doing all kinda of fun stuff... He was a baseball player, and actually played in the minor league for Minnisota... He was studying at a university here, but had a heart attack due to a heart condition. He died at age 21....
I was stunned.... I never knew where he was buried. everything kinda happened and i read about it in the paper later... I knew Alison and he had broken up a while back, but yeah. she was the only connection i had to him.
I still have a baseball he gave me for a pack of silly candy when we were in school. I always remember him to be an awesome guy... really fun to hang out with...
but yeah. she told me about the funeral and now i know where he's buried... if i can get more details, i want to go visit him... poor paul. He was the nicest guy.. and his life was taken away from him..... hmmm....
but yeah. it was great to catch up with the girls tonight... i'm sure i'll see them again soon.
My stupid birthday is coming up. i would like to actually do something this year.. though everyone always seems to be taking it easy.. so i dunno.... god, i HATE my birthday...
sigh... we'll see how things go....
