JAI HO!
Listening to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack first thing in the morning kinda gets you pumped up for the rest of the day. *Bollywood dances across the room* XD
I didn't mention it before my trip (kinda slipped my mind), but I've been visiting the Goodwill as much as I can lately because I seem to keep finding really cool things. The day before my trip, I found a GREAT cubbyhole-style bookcase for a whopping $3.40 that I'm now using to put DVDs in. I could probably fit my ENITRE DVD collection in there, I'm really happy with it, it clears up a nice chunk of space for me. Yesterday, I kept finding books that I had been wanting to read, which was great--I ended up walking out of there with 3 books (well, 6 if you count the beautiful brand-new collected copy of all the His Dark Materials books with new content that I also found and couldn't buy fast enough. XD) as well as a lovely new candle (which had it's original $8 pricetag still on it, and I got it for $1. Mwahaha~) I've been wanting to try to buy more of my books and housewares at Goodwill lately, mostly because it's cheaper but also because I feel better about it than wasting money at Wal-Mart all the time, lol. :P
Last night, my parents surprised me by asking me out to dinner with them. We didn't go anyplace fancy--just a local cafe that's close by, but I thought it was sweet of them to invite me along. I talked about my trip, and they talked about things that happened while I was gone (which wasn't a lot, but apparently there was a small earthquake around Seattle around the first day I left. Crazy.) I tried to convince them that they should see Coraline with me, but dad's not that into "animated" stuff. Mom was vaguely interested, but too tired to stay out late. Bummer. So I'll prolly end up seeing it sometime after the weekend...I'd love to go with some friends, but I dunno if anyone else around here is as interested as I am. warumono_kyoru and his family, maybe? Meh, if not, I'll just buckle down and see it myself.
Heh, I thought I had to come into work today, but apparently it's tomorrow! Ahh, another day to relax and shake off my jet lag. ♥
EDIT: Guess I spoke too soon, they called me in for a few hours tonight. Eh, no biggie. I could use the money. XD;
