Lookit the ginormous starfish that was hanging out at the ferry today! :O
To give you an idea of just how NICE it was today. 80 degrees and no clouds...in September. Freaky.
So today being one of my only days off (and payday!), I decided that even though I was still feeling a tad "bleh" that I should go out and enjoy myself today. So I took the ferry and decided to have a day where I did only things that I've been wanting to do, but hadn't. A day totally for just me. And it was pretty cool.
On ze foot-ferry.
First on my agenda: having lunch at the European Fry place that I've passed by a million times, but never eaten at. (Poor guy in front of me had a giant bandage on his head. x__x)
MY LUNCHHHHH! Chicken strips and huge European-style steak-fries. I got Thai peanut sauce for the chicken (which was awesome), and for the fries, I got wasabi garlic mayo which was AMAZING, OMFG. I felt kinda like a piggie afterwords, but it was so worth it. OMNOMNOM X9
Then, off to Seattle~!
A tree branch near the ferry dock. I guess people have been taking to decorating it with their gum. XD;
Visited the market, though I didn't really buy anything there (well, except a little honey stick).
I decided after the market to head on downtown to visit Lush and Daiso, because I hadn't been to either in quite some time.
Some cute graffiti on the sidewalk I found on my way there.
? XD A Pokemans sighting in a store window on the way there as well.
At Lush, one of the sales girls noticed I was carrying my Meta cake backpack and we got to talking...she was a real fun gal, and we had a lot in common. I think I spent more time talking to her than actually shopping, lol! XD But I still got to smell a bunch of the new stuff and I ended up with a few goodies, including a bar of
King of Skin and
You Snap the Whip. She also gave me oodles of free samples, and a free "Sakura" solid perfume to boot. Ahhh, I love Lush. ♥
After that, I hit up Daiso and ended up finding some awesome stuff there, including a few travel-y type things I'll use for my trip to see Shu. I also found a couple of cute little things for my sister, just because. ;3
On my way back around Pike Place, I passed by a gelato shop that I'd always wanted to try, and by then it was getting really warm, so I figured, hey--why not?
Gelatoooooo~! So good, especially on a warm day.
I got vanilla and strawberry. They went really well together.
Poster for Choke I spotted on the way back to the ferry.
I'm in a ferry taking a picture of another guy taking a picture of another ferry. x__x lol.
On the way home, I bumped into someone I went to middle school AND high school with, which was cool. I hadn't seen him in like...6 or 7 years. We talked about stuff we were up to, and he introduced me to his boyfriend. We exchanged phone numbers, too, so maybe we'll actually get to talk again soon.
So...yeah, I had an awesome time today. It felt good to just do stuff I wanted and not have to worry about anything else, really. And I talked to some really cool people. It's been a long time since I went out of my way to just do ONLY stuff I wanted to do, and it felt good. Too bad I have to work most of the rest of the week...but hey, I need to earn back some of the money I spent today, huh? XD; lol.
Oh, and something funny that I'm totally grateful for: one of those double-decker tourist buses passed by me while I was walking and for some reason, I got the urge to stop and wave at it, shouting, "Hey, tourists! Welcome to Seattle!" (to which most of them smiled and waved back, which I thought was cute.) A split second after that, I turned back to the sidewalk and was going to start walking again...and literally INCHES in front of me, a pigeon took a huge crap all over the sidewalk. If I hadn't stopped to wave to the tourists, I would have gotten bird poop ALL OVER my head. O___o I consider myself extremely lucky, since that probably would've...y'know, put a pretty big damper on my day.
*yawns* And now, I must rest up for work. I gotta actually get up kinda early tomorrow. Waaaahhh.
