Haha, ok not really, but I did my nails last night:
Rainbow & glitter! ✧*。ヾ(。・ω・。)ノ゙✧*。
I had a couple people on Twitter ask me how I did this after I posted a crappy cell phone pic last night, so I took a few pics of my super high-tech nail art tool I used for this:
Yup. It's a cheap, wedge-shaped make-sponge!
Basically, what I did was add a stripe of each color about the size of a finger nail on the sponge (I did a separate one for my thumb nail, since it's bigger than my other nails). Then rolled it like a stamp onto my nails. I let them all dry completely, then added a top coat and glitter coat, which softened the edges and gave it a more air-brushed sort of look.
Of course, you have to note that you WILL get nail polish all over your fingers (not just on your nails) doing this. But a q-tip and some nail polish remover will fix that. I've also heard that putting baby-oil on your cuticles beforehand will make it easy to just wash off excess nail polish, but I didn't have any so I wasn't able to try it.
The best part is that I just used some cheap $1 LA Colors nail polish for this (well, the topcoat and glitter coat were Sally Hansen), but it looks like a fancy, expensive mani. :D
The only thing that sucks is that it can be a little time consuming. It took me about 45 mins to do all of my nails, but I always do my nails while I'm doing something like watching TV so I don't feel like I'm totally wasting my time, lol. Of course, it'd probably take just as long as that or longer if I went to some nail salon and paid someone else to do it, so I'd rather just do it myself and save the money. XD
For my first attempt at something like this, I think it turned out pretty well. THIS PLEASES ME. ♥
