Zack actually got me "The Sea Prince & The Fire Child" last year for Christmas and I nearly DIED. I had rented the English VHS of that tape probably a million times when I was a kid. (I didn't even really understand the story at the time, I just loved the animation!) They actually did a really nice job of translating it (I'd never seen it in the original Japanese--and I didn't realize the Seiyuu who did Tuxedo Kamen originally was Sirius! XD It's actually quite adorable.) The dub is the same one from the 80s, but it's shockingly not that bad! I rewatched it and thought it was pretty cute.
I know what you mean, though! I want to buy a lot of the stuff they have available! XD They got their hands on a LOT of good older titles--even some Lupin the Third ones! And supposedly they're releasing UNICO this year. ;3; I AM EXCITEEEE.
Yeah, that just...confused me! I think mostly because the announcement said "for Nook and Nook color", so I ASSUMED the same amount of manga would be available for both, but no...I think they have ONE manga available for regular Nook and it was one that was really lame and uninteresting (I can't even remember what it was). I was really disappointed. :/

Yeah, Rintaro! He's done some amazing work over the years. I even like that stupid X movie, regardless of how off it is from the original story (I CAN'T HELP ITTTT, the animation was beautiful and the soundtrack was amazing ;3; lmao) I haven't seen any of his newer stuff, though-- the last thing I saw of his was Metropolis (which of course was amazing).
whoooa! it would be neat to have both versions, to me. i don't recall the dub being awful when i watched it on youtube or as a kid, so... i was able to stand watching it in the first place. :,D and heyyy that's actually neat about the seiyuu! *A*

oh hey only slightly related but i figure you can appreciate this! i really dislike the band blood on the dancefloor (i feel they're mysogynist/general assholes) AND GUESS WHAT THE TSHIRT THEY'VE BEEN SELLING AT HOT TOPIC THE PAST FEW MONTHS LOOKS LIKE:

oh man. i do have that movie to thank for me even getting into... well, literally the dark side of everything. :,D i do give that the animation was lovely and did clamp's artwork justice while still being unique in it's way. i saw an artbook specifically for the film on ebay the other night, and even though i honestly find the sporadic plot/character bastardization (literally, wtf was up with kusanagi being such an asswipe?) insulting, i... still wanted that artbook. :,D but it was $100. lolnope.jpg
also, i did enjoy a lot of the soundtrack! save this one track that... kind of sounds like memories, from cats? only jazzy? and weird? and they keep on playing it at times where they could have had something more fitting? :,D i'm terrible at describing stuff.
now that you mention it, i'm not sure if i've seen any of the recent stuff either. O_O maybe i should look that up on wikipedia... :x
