Feeling a bit better now

Well, turns out my aunt Annette (my Dad's older brother's second wife) works at the hospital, and I've now reconnected with my Dad's side of the family. Hell of a way to go about it, but she recognized my name and came in to make sure she'd heard correctly, and voila.

To the lovely people who have left me messages so far: I friggin' love you all.

Vehicle was accelerating when it hit me, I think. I got thrown about 15 feet, and rolled once I landed. I'd really like to ask the idiot what the HELL he was doing that was so important that he didn't need to watch where the hell he was going, especially since he was turning while I had the walk signal. The cops told The Mum he was 'bummed' (yay for erudition in the police force), but I'm not exactly inclined to be sympathetic. Fucking idiot. At least he didn't leave the scene.

Located the remains of my glasses, and am pleased to report that the destruction was greatly exaggerated. In fact, with a little bending, they fit my head again and one lens is still in the frame. The other has popped out, but I'll have it reset tomorrow, and then I'm halfway back to happy. Was driving me APESHIT, not being able to see. Looking at my previous entry, I'm sure it drove YOU all apeshit that I couldn't see, too.

Have painkillers and anti-inflammtory stuff. OMFG I love Advil. I can't have morphine at home, bummer, but Advil makes life worth living again, I swear.

The Mum's looking after me, so I'm not stuck in bed alone. I can finally turn onto my side when I'm in bed, too, which might not seem like much of a milestone, but it really, really is. Now, if I can just convince the left side of my body to behave normally again, and NOT send me reeling every time I try to take a deep breath (or cough, dear Universe, please stop making me cough), all will be fine again. Erm, well, once the swelling goes down and my face no longer looks like I went a few rounds with Mike Tyson. Heh. Ooh, and it'll be nice when my leg isn't green and blue any more.

Oh crap I just sneezed. OW. My nose is messed up, split the left nostril and my septum, but that didn't matter to the sneeze. Nope, same issue with coughing. OW. Have stitches. They're ugly.

In other news, Boss has been extremely decent about me being out from work. Looks like I'll have a job to go back to, which is reassuring.

Dang, the difference a single plastic lens makes, huh? Tired now, so going to bed and (YAY!) sleeping on my side, damnit.

ow, they pay me for this
