I have my new tattoos!

SO. PLEASED.

I went larger than I'd originally planned, but I'm glad I did. spacewolfcub came with me for moral support, but I think she came away from the experience more freaked out than anything. Also, I don't think she believes me that it doesn't hurt. *shrugs*

I completely forgot to ask her to take some pictures for me, but I'll get palmer_kun to do that when he's back from Cos & Effect. Apparently, he's being run off his ass and loving it, heh.

[I like spoiler cuts better than regular cuts.]My tattoo artist was a guy named Loger, and he was awesome. West Coast Piercing & Ink, on 108 Avenue in Surrey. You go into a nice, clean, bright front-of-house, there's a TV up on the wall tuned to the channel that always runs those gourmet food truck shows, a few glass cases displaying various pieces of jewelry, and a couple of benches for waiting. You can see through to the piercing room and the tattoo room, and they're both clean and bright as well. Even the shop's bathroom is extremely clean and reassuring, with plenty of soap.

I made my appointment weeks ago, so they found me in the book and gave me the you-can't-sue-us paperwork, which I felt no trepidation about signing. A couple of repeat customers were in discussing new designs they wanted Loger to do for them, and I got to see finished examples of his work, and sketches he'd done from a photograph and embellishments he'd added, and I was really very impressed. His return customers told me he's speedy and accurate, and they've had no problems at all. Can't dislike that.

I discovered there are areas of my back that are OMGWTF sensitive compared to the rest of it, but I managed not to squirm or jump when discovering this. And fortunately, Loger really does know what he's talking about. No bleeding, and once he stopped actually applying ink to a spot, no pain. Not even residual ache, which is brilliant.

They gave me a free tube of cream for after-care (part of a deal that I think has now ended), and sunlit_mists helped me with the washing/rinsing/smearing. My back feels like I've put lotion on it, but that's all.

*happy sigh* My Doctor Who art is on me. YAY!
