you are what you eat

I still feel weird. I think a part of the situation is due to my reflection on the concept of 'the devil.' Many christians would say people do things because the devil is tricking them, seducing them, MAKING them do things. I am convinced that they truly have convinced themselves that SOME OTHER SELF is doing bad things through them. No shit, uh... ok so you aren't responsible for all the bad thoughts and deeds you've done. Right?

Fuck that. If you think about it, even if it's just in your mind and you think it's wrong, that's the fucking devil that IS you. Think about ALL the things that are great, amazing, beautiful, loving, compassionate, productive, then think why you are having those thoughts of negativity, evil, seduction, power-seeking, material-seeking... it is in YOU. You choose to either train your mind to see the greatness of the world or to flop around in the lonely chaos. You DO have a choice because it is YOUR self. Even if your self is an illusion and we're all a big ass nature-blob, you feel things at the moment, so you might as well NOT feel suffering if you don't have to (e.g. not being chained to a torture device).

Thinking always in the good requires constant training, constant evaluation and constant concentration and awareness of the greatness of the world, not it's sadness, not it's happiness either - both lead to suffering. One of my favorite concepts is the absence of a thing can be just as powerful as the presence of it. The world is here, you are here, flow through life as easily as water finds the way down a mountain.
