Why the hell are you all stalking me???????
I've encountered something. I'm not quite sure how it fits into the scheme of things but it's there, and it happened again- and it only happens when i meet a true friend. Well, for me to explain this, you guys should know my definition of a true friend: it's almost a falling in love sensation, though, not romantic in the least. I can count upon my hands how many times this has happened in my life: finding a true friend happens upon a sudden encounter and you will ALWAYS remember that encounter for the rest of your life- even if it's ridiculously simple, it still reverberates in the catacombs of your soul. And this person will always be a complete and dedicated friend for forever more, it's incredible and terrifying at the same time. *On my hands, in order of appearance: CHARLIE HENRY, ALEX DERIS, BOB PRIOR, KYLE LUNDAY, ALEX GATTON, CHRIS STYLES, and our newest member: DEREK BRIGHT. With the extreme exception of MARGARET HENRY, which was a love interest, i have encountered this same occurrence with each person; it starts off as you feel the need to speak to the person, and within seconds, you don't know why, but, you already like them. You then decide to hang out later that day or right then and you are already loyal to one another and you are now FULLY comrades, which almost never happens in this same way. SO:
1. ( a kid falls off his bike and my father rushes him into my house to fix his leg, i am then invited over to their pool and then i meet him and his sister. We go swimming: i never forget.)
2. ( on the first day of High school, Freshman Year, i'm nervous, so i stand with my trench coat in the sports hallway; and in the corner, huddled down in a black hoodie with the hood pulled as tight over his face as possible. i say hi: i never forget)
3. ( at a party, after an introduction, when it was time to pass out, in sleeping bags, i start talking to this guy- we talk all night long: i never forget)
4. ( at AACC, sitting at a table with Buddha bullshitting, a dude interrupts us to see who wants to be in a band- i raise my hand and he takes down my number. i run into him later that day outside a science class waiting for billy, and out he comes, we hang for the rest of the night: i never forget)
5. ( Charlie tells me legends about a dude who's kick ass, and brings him over to watch a movie, we have fun, and i call him over the next day: i never forget)
6. ( I'm at RF as usual, and a dude comes in with a crazy Irish hat that makes me laugh, we bullshit, and he buys lottery- then he buys lottery every night for the next two weeks, then we chill: i never forget)
7. ( I'm cabbing last night, I'm at the front of the line at Seacrets and a dude strolls past my cab smoking a Boro, and stops short of where he was heading, turns around and decides to talk to me- an hour later i get his number and we smoke a bowl after work- we talk all night long as if we've known each other for years and it's nothing new: I'll never forget)
that's what i mean guys: for those of you who are in this list, you know which one you are, for everyone else: i'm hoping that'll happen for you guys too. Not to say that these are my only friends, but that they're the creme of the crop for me, you know? and i hope that more stories appear along the same lines. Those are moments you want to be able to live over and over again as needed. I'm extremely thankful it has happened again, because i know FOR A FACT that everyone on that list is a GENIUS in their own way. Whether it's a genius of intelligence, creativity, timing, change, might, growth, or life.
You guys, you know who you are, and this is my shout out.
