Art Contest 2007
I am running this art contest over at sheezy but might as well spread it over here 
The world of Blvd Square:
The world of Blvd Square is a huge city known as Channel Square. The City of Channel Square is filled with life, not just with its inhabitants, here in Channel Square, buildings have a mind of their own, moving when they feel the need to, letting individuals in only when they feel like it, and there is currently a huge problem of buildings being kidnapped or murder.
Buildings are not the only kooky objects coming to life, gadgets, plugs, radios, wires, TVs, computers, alarm clocks, ovens, food...you know what, EVERYTHING! is alive! The only thing keeping order in Channel Square is the fundamental rule:
"Everything in this city, whether human or gadget, was created to have a purpose, if it didn't it was exiled from the city."
The dominating inhabitants are robots, androids, aliens, creatures, and "humans". Spaceships and hovercrafts/boards are the more popular forms of transportation, but you can sometimes hitch a ride from a moving building.
The BASE of this whole entire universe and in its creation is that EVERYTHING in life, from human beings to the fork in your kitchen draw, is a character of it owns: from colors, patterns, textures, materials, and overall design everything is a form of artwork, having its own personality! And having its own function...without function, objects and ourselves become lost and have no purpose
The overall look for Channel Square is cyber punk, so check out movies like Blade Runner, The Fifth Element. the animated film Treasure Planet, Robots...to name a few...

SO when participating in this Contest, please apply that base and work up from it, then you should nail the concept of the Channel Square Universe for sure [YAY!]
OBJECTIVE:
Create a design that would fit into the Channel Square Universe
There are three Categories that you may enter into:
(1 )Architecture: design a building or statue, any structure you can think of to fit into Channel Square.
(2) Transportation: design a spaceship, hovercraft, car, bus or anything you can think of.
(3) Inhabitant: design a character whether it's a human, robot, alien, creature or gadget, just make sure it serves a purpose and has a function.
RULES:
- Individuals may submit ONLY TWO designs! or if you just want to submit one, that's fine too
You can submit two in the same category or mix it up.
-Submit a character sheet showing how the character is built!!!! Not like instructions!! Look at my character sheets and this what i am looking for:

If you have another layout in mind that is totally cool! I won't dock anything off, I just want to know how this character moves, their facial expressions and what not
-Submit a a brief description about your design and give it a NAME!
-Submissions can be done in:
2D: It can be done as a FLASH animation, showing how the character moves, its facial expression, body language. DIGITAL painting or drawing. TRADITIONAL painting or drawing...MIX MEDIA.
3D: Digital 3D models are welcome! TRADITIONAL 3D...building from sculpy, clay, LEGOS, popsicle sticks! ANYTHING YOU WANT!
! FASHION DESIGN ! you can even make the outfit the character is wearing, take some pics and submit those!
-WILL NOT EXCEPT! Anything with UNCLEVER, DISTASTEFUL dirty humor, foul language, or SEXUAL CONTENT...bathroom humor is not welcome in this contest! HOWEVER if a dirty joke has some originality to it, funny with some wit, then that is fine. Just be tasteful about it okay!
DEADLINES:
The contest Ends AUG 1, 2007 at 12 am...so technically on Aug 2 at 12 am

.PNG, .JPEG, .GIF, .SWF files are welcome. NO PSD FILES! Make sure the file sizes aren't too crazy! When I open a submission I want to see 80% of the image, you can do close up shots on details...BUT I DON'T WANT TO SEE AN INSANELY LARGE IMAGE...so resize please [YAY!]
PRIZES:
I will choose a first place winner and a runner up for each category. The First place winners will move onto the final round for the Grand Prize [YAY!]
Grand Prize Winner: Design will be featured in the first Blvd Square flash cartoon and will also pop up in paintings, drawings and cartoons when ever they are needed [YAY!]
First Place Winners: Will receive a Tutorial from me [YAY!]
Runner Ups: will receive a print of any (current) painting from my gallery
