fuck derailleurs, man
Fuck derailleurs. A while back, I had a pretty gnarly fall on my bike. Instead of falling over the handlebars, I managed to get my leg out of the way, and throw the bike down and just step over it. Which led to me slamming ear-first into a billboard.
So, the chain hasn't been smooth since around that time, but I didn't notice for a few days. I figured it was that.
Its finally nice out again, and I got around to fixing the puncture in my back tube. I bring it to the shop and see if they can do any adjusting; the guys just basically bent the derailleur back into place and tightened the cable, then asked me what happened. I fell, etc. He tells me it needs to be replaced.
One fucking fall and shit is busted like that? Gotta put in some work when I get home and start riding a more simple bike again.
That said, I still love riding my bike, and the high-pitched skid that a road bike makes when power sliding... FANTASTIC.
